Detailed Description

This is a CY (GP290 version 2) 28.5cc motor with a 40mm cylinder base. The larger cylinder base allows for larger transfer ports for smoother delivery of fuel & air to the combustion chamber. This engine has been race ported with piston modifications for better acceleration and top speed. The top of the piston has been turned & smoothed and the ring groove has been modified to resist lean seizures due to piston head expansion. The head gasket has been replaced by a copper head gasket and sealed to eliminate the risk of leaks and head gasket blow-outs. This motor is rated at 4+ HP. This engine significantly outperforms a stock 28.5cc. Engine comes with WT-668 carb and clutch.

Carburetor Settings: Low Needle 1+1/4 turns, High Needle 1+1/2 turns

Recommended Oil: Klotz R50 Synthetic 32:1 Ratio (4 fl.oz. oil / 1 gal. gasoline)

***Due to the high compression of this engine, you should use 89+ octane gasoline or racing fuel up to 116 octane.***

Engine Options:

Stuffer Crankshaft: A stuffer crankshaft takes-up crankcase space (volume), thus increasing crankcase pressure. Increasing crankcase pressure helps with the delivery of fuel & air to the combustion chamber.

Lightened Piston: These pistons have been CNC machined to be lighter, and better balanced in the cylinder. These pistons are 20% lighter than stock. A lighter piston will allow the engine to spool-up faster and rev higher than with a stock piston.

For more performance, add the WT-257 carb, velocity stack with choke, and a tuned pipe.
